UMC’s board members
UMC’s board consists of six members and their alternates, appointed by WHO and by the Swedish government.

The operations of UMC as a WHO Collaborating Centre are governed by an agreement between WHO Headquarters and the Swedish government. The centre has an international board – WHO and the Swedish government each appoint three members and alternate members.
Since May 2019, the board has been chaired by Dr Filippa Nyberg, Chief Medical Officer, Karolinska University Hospital, and Associate Professor, Karolinska Institutet.
